The HSUS Display at the Columbus Equine Affair once again misinformed the public of the Tennessee Walking Horse breed. There presentation of the heavy log chain mislead people on what we currently show our Performance horses in which is the small 6 ounce chain.
The United States Department of Agriculture is intent on enforcing the Horse Protection Act, which prohibits the soring of Tennessee Walking horses. Soring practices include chemical treatment of the horse’s pasterns and pressure shoeing. The Tazewell County Classic Horse Show has been cancelled for 2016. The show committee will work on arrangements to attempt to host the show in 2017.
