WHOA Announces Show Changes

The Walking Horse Owners Association announces some exciting changes for the upcoming 2022 show year. They would like to announce that WHOA will sponsor the “Southern Belle Walking Horse Show” scheduled for March 10-12, 2022. The host venue will be the Georgia Horse Park, 1996 Centennial Olympic Parkway, Conyers, Georgia 30013.

The Walking Horse Owners Association “Jamboree” has a new home. It will now take place on March 31-April 2 at the new Oak Grove Equestrian Center & Casino, 777 Winners Way, Oak Grove, Kentucky 42262.

The second Annual “Rumble on a River” (ROAR) will be held April 21-23 at the Reflection Arena Event Center, 1500 David Manor in Festus, Missouri.

WHOA Board of Directors Nominations for 2022

The Nominating Committee of the Walking Horse Owners’ Association has nominated the following people for the Board of Directors for a 3 year term.

Directors:
Jason Bachert – Missouri
Martha Child – Tennessee
Kevin Gilliam – North Carolina
Jessica Hlebak Mast – Tennessee
Maggie Moore – Tennessee
Susan Paul – Tennessee
Mark Taylor – Tennessee
Meredith Thessen – Kentucky

The nominating committee has nominated for President, Frank E. Neal of Tennessee.

Anyone wishing his or her name declared as a candidate will need to notify the Walking Horse Owners Association no later than December 15, 2021 according to the By laws, Article III, Section 1, stating anyone desiring to be a candidate shall give notice by registered mail, electronic mail or fax to the Association of his or her intent to run for a directorship.”

This notice must reach the WHOA office no later than December 15, 2021.

According to the By laws, Article IV, Section 2 stating “The President shall be elected by total popular vote by the members for voting. Any candidate for President must have been a member in good standing and must have served on the Board of Directors for the past two years immediately prior to the election. In order to be a candidate for President, other than being nominated by the nominating committee, a person must be nominated by a member in good standing of this association. Said nomination, along with a written statement by the nominee agreeing to said nomination must be reported to the association no later than December 15, 2021.

These nominations must reach the WHOA office no later than December 15, 2021.
