WHOA International Pleasure & Colt Grand Championship

The 39th Annual WHOA International Grand Championship Horse Show is fast approaching; it is practically at our doorstep. We have some important reminders for you as this looks to be one of the most successful Internationals. To date there are 430 stall reservations and 70 camper sites reserved.

Three classes have been added to the show schedule:
• Class 164A. Lite Shod, Amateur, Canter, English
• Class 195A. Lite Shod, Youth 17 & Under, English
• Class 234A. All Day Pleasure Championship, Youth Rider, English or Western
2017 International begins with a new Summer Barrel Extravaganza (IBRA Rules) followed by new favorites – Dressage, Working Plantation Horse competition, and Service Horse competition.

Monday is an important day for 4-H members. To compete a WHOA membership is not required, there are no fees for any 4-H class and any horse may compete. For those who are new to the 4-H levels of class description they are:
• 4-H Junior – 4th & 5th grades
• 4-H Junior High & Senior High – 6th & Up – thru 12th grade
To make entries at the International all horses must have a current Coggins test and proof of ownership papers must be presented; a copy may be used but must show the front and back of the registration paper. Out-of-state horses must have interstate health certificates. Please have all your paperwork organized and ready to be presented at check-in.

Friday, July 28 and Saturday July 29th WHOYA (Youth) member’s President Brady Bachert and friends have organized exciting and fun youth activities.

The annual barn party will follow the Tuesday night show with a Pizza Barn Party in the Mary Miller Room then Wednesday, at 1 pm followed up with our canine friends at the annual dog show held in the main arena.
