Walking Horse Trainers’ Auxiliary Takes Center Stage

The WHT Auxiliary plays a vital role in the Tennessee Walking Horse Industry. Each member volunteers to positively promote the breed by work and fundraising. Traditionally each year at The Celebration, Auxiliary Night means awards and recognitions. This year was no different as center ring became center stage for this group.

The Merit Award is one of the highest honors an auxiliary member can receive. It is given annually to a member who works tirelessly. This trainer’s wife and mother of three puts in many hours before and after work, weekends and holidays for the Walking Horse Industry. She also keeps the auxiliary running smoothly. She has previously been awarded the Mudslide Slim Lifetime Achievement Award and the Member of the Year Awards. The 2019 Merit Award recipient is Sarah Smith. Sarah is the wife of trainer Tim Smith.
Another special auxiliary moment in center ring was the presentation of the 2019 WHT Auxiliary Scholarships. This year’s very worthy recipients are Chloe Claxton, Dalton Puckett and Bryan Robinson. The Scoop congratulates all of these award winners and also the WHT Auxiliary for your continuous hard work.
