TWHBEA Officials Attend Legislative Meeting

Lewisburg, TN – On November 14, 2012, at the request of Kentucky State Senator Robin Webb, Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association (TWHBEA) President Marty Irby, Executive Director Ron Thomas and Member At Large Linda Starnes attended a meeting of the Kentucky legislature’s Interim Committee on Horse Farming. The purpose of the Interim Committee is to investigate the contributions of horse farms to the state’s agricultural economy and examine those industries involved in the breeding and raising of horses. Mr. Irby, Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Starnes presented to the committee information concerning the Tennessee Walking Horse and its history and presence in Kentucky. The information was well received and the meeting proved to be quite productive for all involved.
