The SHOW Horse Industry Organization released the following statement this morning in response to the U.S. District Court of Northern District of Texas Fort Worth Division denying a motion for summary judgment by SHOW HIO challenging the USDA’s minimum penalty protocol requirement for industry HIOs:

Obviously we are disappointed in the court’s decision. We have been committed to reform since our inception and continue to be committed to moving the industry forward through fair and consistent inspections and penalties in the best interest of the welfare of the horse. We are reviewing all of our options and we will announce soon how we will proceed.
