Obituary – Melvin McCormick

Shelbyville resident, Mr. Thomas Melvin McCormick, Sr., age 67, passed away April 19, 2021, at home under the loving care of his family and Hospice Compassus.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel and burial followed at Cothran Cemetery in Rover.

Melvin was born on May 28, 1953, in Shelbyville, to the late Charles Bob McCormick and Ola Earlene Crosslin McCormick. He worked as a delivery driver for Southern Precision Machine before failing health forced him to retire. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Tennessee Walking Horses, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Preceding in him death was a brother, Charles McCormick, and a sister, Nettie Mae McCormick.

Melvin is survived by his wife, Gale Winn McCormick; three sons, Jeremy McCormick and his wife Michelle; Thomas McCormick, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth; Scott McCormick and his wife Misty; two brothers, Mickey McCormick and his wife Dru; and Mitchell McCormick and his wife Florine; a sister, Judie Pope and her husband Alton; and nine grandchildren: Chase McCormick, Kevan McCormick, Laney McCormick, Hunter Tate McCormick, Kevin McCormick, Katelyn McCormick, Ryan McCormick, Madison McCormick, and Logan McCormick.
