Louise Bass McCarter passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Dogwood Assisted Living Center in Corinth, Mississippi. Mrs. McCarter was born Friday, July 31, 1931 to the late Charles and Ossa Bass. At the tender age of fourteen she met her true love and husband of 76 years, Gilbert “Sonny” McCarter. Mrs. McCarter was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
Besides her parents, Mrs. McCarter is preceded in death by her sons, Wayne McCarter and David McCarter.
She is survived by her husband Gilbert “Sonny” McCarter; daughter, Kristi Lane; son, Gary McCarter (Marty); daughter-in-law Carol McCarter; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Bert McCarter, Gary McCarter II, Steven McCarter, Jordan Bonds, Blake Cain, and Chris Montagnini.
There was a Celebration of Life Service held in her honor, January 5, 2023 at McPeters Funeral Directors. The Scoop sends our warmest condolences to the McCarter family.
