Linda Locke Beasley was born on September 28, 1942, in Pasadena, California and passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020, surrounded by her loved ones.

Linda graduated from Greenville High School and attended Emory University. She married Jimmy on September 9, 1962 and moved to Athens where she completed her bachelor’s degree at Athens State College.

Linda Beasley loved unconditionally and never judged anyone. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Athens where she served on many committees. She was also a member of many clubs and charitable organizations.

Linda was very passionate about her flower arranging, specializing in “roadside” flowers. She was also a long time supporter of the Tennessee Walking Horse Industry, in which she used to participate, along with her family and friends. Linda enjoyed traveling with her husband, Jimmy, throughout Europe and Africa.

The family would like to thank Deb, Diane and Betty for the kindness and comfort given to their mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick John Locke and Maxine McCann Locke of Greenville, South Carolina. Survivors include her loving husband, Jimmy Beasley, her three daughters, Beth Beasley, Chavigny Beasley, and Jamie Gumins (Steven). She was grandmother to Maxine and BiBi Beasley, Jeb (Ashley) and Jasper House, and Austin and Parker Gumins. She is also survived by Doodles Beasley, her precious dog.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a small family service was held on Thursday, April 30th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church of Athens, Alabama. The Scoop was saddened to learn about the passing of Linda Beasley. We send our warmest condolences to Jimmy, Beth, Chavigny, and Jamie and the rest of the Beasley Family.
