Janice Kay Larter Woody, 59, of Salisbury, NC passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023 at her residence after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Janice was born March 31, 1964 in Wellsburg, WV to the late Jack Larter and Alda Vaughn Christopher Larter. She was a 1983 graduate of Brooke High School and earned a Cosmetology degree. Upon relocating to North Carolina, she worked as a Project Manager for Frontier Communication.
Janice’s greatest joy was her family. She was an enthusiastic supporter of the many teams that Mark coached throughout the years and a passionate fan at Macy’s horse shows. She loved the outdoors, especially the mountains and the beach. Most importantly, she had a strong faith that never wavered despite her illness.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Mark Woody; daughter, Macy Woody Norwood and husband Bryant; brother, David Larter and wife Jessie; sister, Karen Hervey and husband James Robert; as well as a loving extended family.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM Sunday, August 27at Summersett Funeral Home in Salisbury, NC.
A graveside service, conducted by Dr. Andy Davis of First Baptist Church in Durham, will be held at 11 AM on Monday, August 28 at Markham Memorial Gardens in Durham, NC.
