Obituary- Eddie Ray Davis

Eddie Ray Davis, 68, passed away Sunday September 9, 2018. He is survived by loving wife Donna Sponcil Davis of 48 years, son Jason (Shari), and grandson Nathan Davis. He was a native of Lexington, but a life-long resident of Jessamine County. He was born May 5, 1950, to the late Ray and Esther Hager Davis.

Eddie Ray loved horses and was a member of the Kentucky Walking Horse Association and the American Hackney Association. He was a farmer, and was happiest when swapping and trading, or “working a deal”. Eddie Ray was a KWHA Board of Director, served as President of the KWHA, held a Judges license for the KY HIO and RHBAA, and maintained the position of KY HIO DQP Coordinator during some of his active years with the horse industry. He was a former employee of the City of Nicholasville Planning and Zoning. He and Donna attended Roberts Chapel United Methodist. A Remembrance Service was held Thursday, September 13th, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. He was laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the Roberts Chapel United Methodist Church. Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is honored to serve the Davis family. “Grief is the last act of love we have to give to those we loved. Where there is deep grief, there was great love”.
