Obituary – Doug Wolaver

The Walking Horse Industry mourns the loss of three-time World Grand Champion Tennessee Walking Horse trainer and lifelong farmer Doug Wolaver. At the age of 81, he passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019 at his home in Diana. Doug was a quiet spoken man who simply minded his own business, but was always willing to lend a hand to anyone that was in need.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Myron “Pap” and Jean Clark Wolaver. His survivors include his wife, Brenda Wakefield Wolaver of Diana, his brother, Jr. Wolaver and wife Gail of Diana, his sister Faye Davis of Nashville, his son Steve Wolaver of Diana, his daughter Kathy Wolaver of Cornersville, his granddaughter, Kerstie Wolaver, his sister-in-law Lisa Beech, and his nephews, Bryan and Blake Wolaver, Evan Beech, and Blake Gowan.

Visitation with the family was on Monday, September 2, 2019 at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home. The Funeral Service followed on Tuesday, September 3, 2019; burial took place in Diana Cemetery.
