Lewisburg, TN – The nomination numbers are in for the 2012 Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ And Exhibitors’ Association (TWHBEA) National Futurity and, while they are down compared to last year, they are encouraging considering the show’s new date and venue as well as the current economic climate and level of turmoil in our industry. While nominations are down overall, some divisions, including both Two-Year-Old Mares and Geldings and Two-Year-Old Stallions, have actually seen a slight uptick and others, such as Two-Year-Old Lite Shod Stallions, Geldings and Mares, have held steady. All in all this year’s numbers along with an impressive total purse of $58,561 continue to support the TWHBEA National Futurity as the premier showcase for young Tennessee Walking Horses. The 2012 edition is sure to feature top competition in each division and TWHBEA is grateful to all those who nominated. This year’s National Futurity is scheduled for the evening of July 19th at the indoor, air conditioned Miller Coliseum in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
