On Wednesday, April 5th Ag Day on the Hill was held at the Tennessee State Capital for the second consecutive year. It was a great day for the Tennessee Walking Horse industry as the reigning Four Year Old World Grand Champion, Mr. True Blue, served as the ambassador for the entire breed. RM Kellett, who rode Mr. True Blue to the 2022 title, along with Spencer Benedict, greeted guests as the World Grand Champion team were quite the attraction. Others present and promoting the industry were Warren Wells, Celebration CEO and Mark Farrar, TWHBEA CEO. State Representative Pat Marsh and State Senator Shane Reeves, who both serve as Shelbyville’s voice, were on hand, as well. Pat Marsh is a past Director with the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration.
Owner Jake Jacobs also attended the event. Jacobs, along with his wife Amanda and daughter Ally Jo, have been great supporters of the Walking Horse industry and have been gracious, allowing Mr. True Blue to represent the industry at multiple other events.
The Scoop appreciates the efforts of each person that attended Ag Day on the Hill. This event draws a large crowd of dignitaries, as well as the general public. It was a perfect way to share with others how much we love and respect our beloved Tennessee Walking Horses.
