FRANK LOSESY AND THE DARK SIDE OF HSUS

Shelbyville, TN – On June 28 at the Hall of Fame Club in the Calsonic Arena, approximately 250 animal lovers had the privilege of hearing Frank Losey speak regarding the Humane Society of the United States. Losey is an attorney licensed to appear before the Supreme Court of the United States. He is also licensed to practice law in Ohio and Kentucky.

Losey became involved in the fight against HSUS when responsible dog breeders were targeted by HSUS in Missouri. He did this for his dog, Chaucer. He is an advocate for animal welfare and the rights of animal owners and livestock producers. Losey is assembling a grassroots army to take on HSUS and other similar so called “humane” groups.

Local horse trainer, Hal Newman, introduced Losey to the assemblage. While visiting Shelbyville, Losey visited Groover Stables where he watched horses being worked and prepared to attend the Marshall County Horse Show. Dr. John Bennett also demonstrated thermography and X-ray to Losey. Losey also had the thrill of attending the Marshall County Horsemans’ Association Show held in Lewisburg, TN. He stated that the Walking Horse industry has not done a good job of getting our message to the public and letting them know about our horses.

Losey stated that the HSUS has done masterful job of “hoodwinking” and deceiving the American public. He was concerned that an undercover HSUS video of a west Tennessee horse trainer was not made public for a year. His question was WHY if the abuse was so horrific. He believes that HSUS is masterful at taking things our of context. He also expressed concern that HSUS is targeting children K-6 in their advertising and lobbying efforts.
