Equine OBITUARY Remembering “Score Card”

May 29th, 2023 | By | Category: News, Obituaries

When people say “It’s just a horse”, they just don’t understand.
The losses have been coming hard in my life recently. This evening we had to say goodbye to a member of the family.
Score Card was foaled on April 30, 1997. He was bred and raised by Tracy Boyd and Johnny Puckett, sired by Pusher’s Big Score and out of Delights Starlight M. My Dad and I went to look at Score as a yearling in Shelbyville and as soon as I saw him come across the field I told my Dad, he’s the one. He has been a member of the family since that day.
We delivered Score to Jeff Green as a coming three year old. He has been with the Green family for the past 23 years and I cannot ever thank them enough for the love and care he received.
In the equine world there are certain horses and riders that form bonds deeply forged and almost magical. Score and Samantha Green shared that bond. Once the decision was for Sam to show Score it was a match made in heaven. Sam and Score would light up the show ring every time they entered the gates. She loved him and he loved her.
Roam the heavens free old friend. Hopefully we will all see you again one day.
