Equine Obituary – My Rockstar

Jul 3rd, 2019 | By | Category: News, Obituaries

starSarah Coffee Burks has announced the passing of her beloved four year old stallion, My Rockstar. Rockstar lived a short life, but Burks was quick to say that in his four short years, he certainly brought nothing but joy to all the lives he touched. The beautiful black pony was euthanized on Tuesday, June 18, 2019. After becoming ill, Rockstar was diagnosed with pneumonia at the University of Tennessee Veterinary School. His illness became more serious leading into pleural pneumonia. After a 3 ½ week hospital stay, and exhausting all options following the collapse of his left lung, Rockstar was humanely laid to rest. He was loved so much by his current owner and trainers at Price Stables, as well as his previous owner and trainer, Bob Roach and Scott Beaty.
Sired by General Gunn and out of an Our American Eagle mare, My Rockstar was becoming a show ring star. In 2018 he claimed his first blue in the Upper Cumberland Amateur Three Year Old Stallions class followed by a Spring Fun Show blue in the same division. His most recent accolade was winning Reserve Amateur Four Year Old at the Smoky Mountain Classic with new owner Sarah Coffee Burks. The Scoop sends our deepest sympathy to Sarah and the entire Price Stables Family for their loss of My Rockstar.
