Equine Obituary – Masters Razzel And Jazz

Feb 17th, 2021 | By | Category: News

The reigning Tennessee Walking Horse World Grand Champion, Master’s Razzel and Jazz, has passed away due to complications with colic. The bay stallion was owned by the Alan Riddley Family of Shelby, North Carolina. To his fans, the stallion was better known as Lurch, a name his previous trainer, Herbert Derickson, gave him. Master’s Razzel And Jazz was sired by Master Of Jazz and out of Dazzle Me Dumas (I’m Dumas Walker).

In 2020, Master’s Razzel And Jazz and John Allan Callaway made their debut ride as World Grand Champion contenders at the Lewisburg Show, formally known as the Marshall County Horseman’s Association Horse Show. The duo won the blue and the support of the crowd. During the 2020 Celebration, John Allan directed Lurch to the Aged Stallions Sec B preliminary win. This duo entered the ring the final night of the Celebration as favorites to win the coveted title. Their show was flawless and Master’s Razzel And Jazz became the 2020 World Grand Champion Tennessee Walking Horse, serving as the ambassador for the entire breed. The Scoop sends our condolences to the Riddley and Callaway Families.
