Equine Obituary- Cut A Rug

Jul 3rd, 2019 | By | Category: News, Obituaries

The Scoop is saddened to learn about the passing of World Champion Cut A Rug. He was a wonderful ambassador of the Tennessee Walking Horse. At age 22, he was laid to rest at Bottoms Stables on June 5th. Under the Formac Stables banner, Jimmy McConnell started Cut A Rug for Bob and Mary Medina. While at Formac Stables, Cut A Rug and McConnell won the Four-Year Gelding World Championship. Afterwards, Kyle Bush purchased Cut A Rug and spent many successful years in the show ring. While Bush was owner, Cut A Rug was trained by Scott Beaty Stables and Michael Burton Stables.  In 2015, Cut A Rug became a competitor in the Youth 11 & Under division with Chloe Casteel in the irons. This duo’s last show ring appearance was at the 2017 Celebration. The Scoop sends our condolences to all who owned, loved, trained and exhibited Cut A Rug.
