International Safety Protocols

The International Horse Show has taken enhanced Health and Safety measures for those who attend our horse show for Trainers, Owners and Exhibitors. While on MTSU grounds you must follow all instructions as listed below. An inherent risk of exposure to Covid-19 exists in any public space where people are present. Covid-19 is a contagious disease. If infected, you may exhibit no symptoms, mild symptoms, or become incurably ill. According to the “Centers for Disease Control and Prevention”, senior citizens and person’s with underlying health conditions are especially vulnerable. By attending the International Horse show you voluntarily assume all risk related to the possible exposure to Covid-19.

The International Grand Championship Walking Horse Show will be conducted in compliance with all Federal, State and local laws and requirements with respect to COVID-19. We urge all persons
who plan on attending to become familiar with the Action Plan.

REQUIREMENTS FOR HORSE SHOW OFFICE:
• All participants are encouraged to make their entries in advance online.
• Everyone who enters the Horse Show Office must wear a mask or cloth face covering.
• Trainers and/or participants must remain at least six (6) feet apart while in the Horse Show Office.
• No more than 8 people are allowed in the office, including staff; once that number has been reached others will have to wait outside. We ask that you don’t loiter in the office.

WARM-UP & INSPECTION AREA REQUIRMENTS:
• While the show is in progress, only horses and riders in the next three (3) classes are allowed in the warm-up area. Only three (3) people are allowed per horse: Trainer, Rider, Assistant or Groom.
• Only one (1) person allowed going through Inspection and must wear a mask. The DQP Inspection area will be increased to allow all required personnel to social distance from each other.
• All DQP’s will wear masks.

RULES TO FOLLOW:
• Social distancing requirements will be enforced throughout the show grounds at all times.
• No standing in front of Entry and Exit Gates.
• Show office will only be open to pick-up back numbers, sign paperwork, and drop off payments.
• Masks are required per county, and MTSU regulations.
• While on show-grounds the only exception is while mounted on a horse.
• You must provide your own facial mask.
• No party’s or get together are allowed during the show.
• Trophy presentation photographs will be taken at the end of a class and a victory pass will be done. All other ribbons will be available at the OUT gate in a box.
• WHOA will notify participants via email if we become aware of any individual who was present at the Show and tests positive for COVID-19 during the show or within 14 days of the conclusion of the show.
• Trainers and participants are strongly encouraged to regularly disinfect high contact items and surfaces such as tack, grooming supplies, stall handles, etc.
• Family members may sit together in the seating area of Miller Coliseum but, everyone else should leave three seats between them and others and an empty row in front of and behind them.
