Mr. Coy Allen Claxton of Shelbyville, Tennessee died Monday, August 26, 2019. He was 82 years old. Funeral Services were held on Thursday, August 29th, at Hillcrest Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Joe Calvert officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Coy, a native of Bedford County, was a Walking Horse trainer who loved working with colts. He held membership with the Walking Horse Trainer’s Association, he was a Master Carpenter, and was a member of Crowell’s Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anne Marie Overcast Claxton;
children, David Lee (Vickie) Claxton, Harold Keith (Christy) Claxton, John
Scott Claxton; a brother, George Wayne (Hazel Lynn) Claxton; five grandchildren, Rob (Joyce Marie) Claxton, Mike (Ashley) Claxton, Erik (Megan) Claxton, Jordan Claxton, Abby Claxton and five great grandchildren. The Scoop sends our warmest condolences to the Claxton Family.
