It’s really easy to point your finger at man once so greatly esteemed by your organization and the Celebration. This man, Jackie McConnell, was a sought after trainer because he produced “winning” results any way he saw fit and people didn’t care what he did to their horses just as long as they won. Unfortunately this seems to be the general way of thinking by the people who show their horses using the “Big Lick” gait. For decades your organization has turned your eyes and hearts away from the “sored” horses parading around in agony right in front of you! I say ALL of you from the owners to the riders to the spectators to the judges to the trainers to the sponsors are JUST AS guilty as JackieMcConnell. All that matters to any of you is money and prestige! You need to be aware that people like me are not going to go away until SORING, PADDING, CHAINS and the Big Lick itself is completely abolished. It stops NOW!!
