
J. T. Leech
of Belvidere, TN was born on
January 27, 1916 and passed
away on January 30, 2010. He
was preceded in death by his
grandson, Joshua Leech.
Survivors are his wife,
Marianne Gray Leech; sons,
Rodney Leech (Veronica) of
Lynchburg, Jimmy Leech of
Princeton, KY and a
daughter, Rebecca Squire of
California.
J. T. Leech
is best described as a
legend in his own time in
The Walking Horse World.
Winning 32 World
Championships, numerous
reserve Championships, and
too many blue ribbons to
count is a dream that most
horsemen never accomplish.
In 2004, The
Celebration inducted him
into the prestigious
Tennessee Walking Horse Hall
of Fame, an honor bestowed
upon few.
He was a judge, a
member of the Tennessee
Walking Horse Breeders’ and
Exhibitors’ Association, a
member of the Walking Horse
Trainer's Association, and a
previous director on the
Board of Director's for the
Trainer's Association.
In addition
to being a great horse
trainer, J. T. was a man of
ingenuity, strong work
ethics, integrity, and was a
very prosperous farmer.

will be held on Monday,
February 1, 2010 at Moore-Cortner
Funeral Home in Winchester,
TN.
Funeral services are
February 2 at Moore-Cortner
Chapel with Rev. Johnny
Bradford officiating.
A horse drawn hearse
will carry JT to interment
at Vanzant Cemetery in
Belvidere.
Pallbearers are
Jerry Beaty, Woody Woodruff,
R. L. Hall, Jr. Holsomback,
Ronnie Williams and Mike
Dukes.
